TRICARE is medical health insurance that's offered to folks in the armed forces of the United States. Substance abuse within the military is much more common than one would assume, and the necessity to provide rehab to these individuals is a vital priority. TRICARE covers a number of rehab services to deal with alcohol and drug dependence including detoxification services, in addition to rehab in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient facilities. People with TRICARE will obviously be required to get a prior authorization before partaking in any type of rehabilitation service, which is often organized with their regional TRICARE representative. If an inpatient center is the preferred rehab choice, TRICARE covers a three week period or one inpatient stay in that facility per benefit period which is every 365 days. There are certain limits as to how much time a TRICARE member can remain within an inpatient center that accepts TRICARE, and there's typically a 30-45 day window which is covered. TRICARE also covers family counselling that may be very useful, as it can help include family members in the healing and process of recovery. No person in the military should fight this battle alone, and there are skilled rehab counselors waiting to assist you today.
