Medicare is a form of medical insurance designed by the U.S. government for senior citizens, along with people with certain disabilities and illnesses. If someone that has Medicare needs treatment for instances of substance abuse, their treatment will be either covered fully by their Medicare health insurance or to a great degree. The only catch is, the person will need to receive treatment from the drugs and alcohol detox facility which accepts Medicare. Before the person will be allowed to begin rehab, they can also get to see their doctor who must declare that rehab services are medically needed, and the doctor will generally approve which kind of treatment the individual will take part in. Medicare Part An and Part B cover different types of rehab services. Medicare Part A covers an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted facility when the individual should be hospitalized because of their problem, as well as the costs that they will have to cover personally are the same as every other hospital stay. Medicare Part B will partly cover outpatient rehab inside a Medicare accepted center, and the individual will have to cover whatever Part B doesn't cover with supplement insurance coverage or they're going to have to self pay.
