Criminal justice client rehabs can be considered as being a significantly better option than incarceration or heavy fines for those who have already been convicted of any type of alcohol or drug related crime. For instance, a person who has been found guilty of dui of alcohol or drugs may be eligible to obtain rehab services because of their problem instead of serving time in prison. The judge may even order that the individual receive rehabilitation, either alone or together with other sentencing. First time offenders in particular will often be given the chance to go with a criminal justice client rehab as opposed to other sentencing, and it is well-advised that they take advantage of it if it is an option. The theory behind criminal justice client rehabs is it is much more efficient and effective to invest effort and time into rehab than punishment. The signs and indicators seem to be quite positive, and criminal justice clients who do experience rehabilitation have better potential for remaining out of the system after rehab.
