Individuals who want to maintain a lot of flexibility within their lives can take advantage of an outpatient rehab whenever they need treatment for drug or alcohol abuse. Outpatient rehab will allow for the rehabilitation client to take part in treatment services with the same commitment you might usually have to consent to within an inpatient or residential drug rehabilitation facility. This doesn't always work in the treatment client's favor however, particularly for those clients who need to resolve substantial drug abuse issues. So while an outpatient rehab might appear to be an opportune possibility, it isn't for everyone. Those that decide on an outpatient rehab will generally take part in meetings and be a part of counseling and treatment services on a part-time basis on a daily basis or a few days each week. This can be very helpful for individuals who have just completed a much more comprehensive inpatient or residential program as an effective aftercare or maintenance step, or someone with just a brief history of drug use which is really a really small amount of clients. For a person with more significant drug abuse and dependency problems, inpatient or residential drug and alcohol treatment facilities which provide rehabilitation over a long-term basis will be the more advantageous rehabilitation option.
