Outpatient rehab enables the rehab client to participate in rehabilitation services without the commitment you might normally have to agree to within an inpatient or residential drug and alcohol rehab facility. This doesn't often work in the rehab client's favor however, particularly for those clients who need to address substantial drug abuse issues. So even though an outpatient rehab may seem like an opportune possibility, it isn't for everyone. Those that do choose an outpatient rehab will usually take part in meetings and take part in therapy and rehab services part-time on a daily basis or several days each week. This is helpful for many who have just completed a more complete inpatient or residential program as a good aftercare or upkeep step, or someone with only a brief history of drug use which is usually a very small amount of clients. For somebody with more serious drug abuse and dependency problems, inpatient or residential drug and alcohol rehab centers which offer rehab over a long-term basis are going to be the more beneficial rehabilitation choice.
