A group home for somebody who has been involved in drug and alcohol abuse is a facility which provides continuous support and help for those in recovery. A group home is usually for troubled adolescents, but in addition there are group homes for people with a mental health problem or who are experiencing behavioral trouble for example. As opposed to sending those who are being affected by drug abusedrug use or recovering from substance abuse to an orphanage, asylum or another similar place, a group home will help provide an acceptable environment to help individuals maintain stability in their lives and still have counsel and support within reach around the clock. People who reside in a group home could be taking part in rehabilitation services while in residence, or may be taking measures to get their life set up outside the group home to be able to at some time live independently not in the group home.
