TRICARE is medical insurance which is offered to people in the military of the United States. Substance abuse within the military is more common than one would think, and the necessity to offer rehab to these individuals is a priority. TRICARE covers many different rehab services to deal with drug and alcohol dependence including detox services, along with rehabilitation in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient programs. Those that have TRICARE will obviously be asked to get a prior approval before partaking in any type of rehabilitation service, which can be arranged using their regional TRICARE representative. If an inpatient center could be the favored treatment choice, TRICARE will cover twenty-one days or one inpatient stay in this particular program per benefit period which is every 365 days. There are particular limits regarding just how long a TRICARE member can remain in an inpatient program that accepts TRICARE, and there is typically a 30-45 day window that is covered. TRICARE also covers family therapy which can be very helpful, as it can certainly help include family members in the healing and process of recovery.
