Medicare is a form of medical insurance developed by the U.S. government for senior citizens, along with those that have certain disabilities and illnesses. When someone who has Medicare needs rehabilitation for cases of substance abuse, their rehab will be either covered completely by their Medicare health insurance or to a significant extent. The only exception is, the person will have to obtain treatment from an alcohol and drugs detox facility which accepts Medicare. Before the individual will be permitted to start treatment, they will also have to visit their primary care physician who must declare that treatment services are medically needed, and the physician will usually approve which kind of rehabilitation the individual will take part in. Medicare Part An and Part B cover several types of rehabilitation providers. Medicare Part A covers an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted program when the individual must be in a hospital for his or her issue, and also the costs that they will have to cover personally are the same as every other hospital stay. Medicare Part B will partially cover outpatient rehabilitation within a Medicare accepted program, and the individual will need to cover whatever Part B doesn't cover with supplement insurance or they've got to self pay.
