TRICARE covers many different rehab services to cope with alcohol and drug dependence such as detox services, and also rehabilitation in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient programs. Those that have TRICARE will obviously be asked to have a prior authorization before partaking in any type of rehab service, which may be organized using their regional TRICARE representative. If an inpatient center could be the preferred treatment option, TRICARE will cover 21 days or one inpatient stay in this facility per benefit period which is every 365 days. There are particular limits about the length of time a TRICARE member can stay in an inpatient center that accepts TRICARE, and there is typically a 30-45 day window which is covered. TRICARE also covers family treatment which is often very useful, as it may help include loved ones in the healing and process of recovery.
