TRICARE is health care insurance which is offered to individuals in the military of the United States. Drug abuse within the military is a lot more common than one would assume, and the need to provide rehab to these individuals is a priority. TRICARE covers a number of rehabilitation services to handle alcohol and drug dependence including detox services, in addition to rehabilitation in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient facilities. Those that have TRICARE will of course be required to obtain a prior authorization before partaking in any type of rehabilitation service, which may be arranged using a regional TRICARE liaison. If an inpatient program is the preferred treatment option, TRICARE will cover a 3 week period or one inpatient stay in this facility per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are specific limits regarding how long a TRICARE member can remain in the inpatient program that accepts TRICARE, then there is typically a 30 to 45 day window which is covered. TRICARE also covers family therapy which can be very useful, as it may help include family members in the healing and process of recovery. No person in the military should fight this battle alone, and there are expert rehabilitation counselors waiting to assist you today.
