TRICARE is health insurance that is offered to folks in the military of the United States. Drug and alcohol use within the military is much more common than one would think, and the need to provide treatment to these individuals is a crucial priority. TRICARE covers many different treatment services to cope with alcohol and drug dependence including detoxification services, along with treatment in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient programs. Those that have TRICARE will obviously be asked to get a prior approval before partaking in any type of rehab service, which can be arranged using a regional TRICARE liaison. If an inpatient center is the favored rehab option, TRICARE covers 21 days or one inpatient stay in such a center per benefit period which is every 365 days. There are particular limits as to how long a TRICARE member can stay within an inpatient facility that accepts TRICARE, and there is typically a 30 to 45 day window which is covered. TRICARE also covers family therapy that may be very useful, as it could help include family members in the healing and recovery process. No person in the military should fight this battle alone, and there are skilled treatment counselors ready to help today.
