TRICARE is health insurance that's provided to members of the armed forces of the United States. Drug abuse inside the military is much more common than one would imagine, and the necessity to provide treatment to these individuals is a crucial priority. TRICARE covers a number of rehabilitation services to cope with alcohol and drug dependence including detoxification services, as well as rehab in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient programs. Those that have TRICARE will obviously have to obtain a prior approval before partaking in any sort of treatment service, that may be organized using their regional TRICARE representative. If an inpatient program is the preferred rehab option, TRICARE covers a three week period or one inpatient stay in this program per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are specific limits regarding how much time a TRICARE member can remain within an inpatient facility that accepts TRICARE, and there's typically a 30 to 45 day window that is covered. TRICARE also covers family therapy which may be very helpful, as it can help include family members in the healing and recovery process. No person in the military should fight this battle alone, and there are professional treatment counselors waiting to help today.
