Offering gender-specific rehab services has shown to be worthwhile in situations where traditional treatment facilities have fallen short, including coping with situations in a women's life that are distinctive and painful. Such difficulties may have to do with sexual abuse, physical abuse, mental abuse, eating disorders, one's family members and being a mother, or other really serious issues that are specific to women. Research shows that women also can become involved in drug use more readily than men, and so are more predisposed to illness because of drug abuse issues than males because of this.
