Medicaid is a type of health care insurance available for individuals who are in certain income brackets which qualifies them to obtain this government funded insurance. Whether or not an individual is qualified for Medicaid doesn't only determined by income however, and individuals shouldn't presume they don't qualify because they make a fair income. For example, people who have a lot of dependents may be eligible for Medicaid even when they make what can be described as a reasonable income. Medicaid can also cover the expenses of rehab, if someone has been abusing alcohol or drugs and needs rehab. There are several alcohol and drug rehab facilities which accept Medicaid, but different states have different guidelines for what types of rehab are covered. Certain states only cover outpatient rehabilitation services for instance while other states cover far more extensive rehab such as a residential stay in long-term drug treatment facility. If they do not have Medicaid and also don't have the funds or some other kind of medical insurance to pay for treatment, they can see if they qualify for Medicaid and then sign up for a drug and alcohol rehab program that's approved within their state.
