A group home for someone who has tbeen involved with drug and alcohol abuse is a facility which offers continual support and assistance for those in recovery. A group home is ordinarily for troubled adolescents, but there are also group homes for people with a mental health problem or who are encountering behavioral problems for example. As an alternative to sending individuals who are experiencing drug abusedrug use or recovering from substance abuse to an orphanage, asylum or another similar place, a group home will help provide an acceptable environment to help maintain stability inside their lives and have counsel and assistance at their fingertips 24/7. Residents in a group home might be taking part in rehabilitation services during residence, or may be taking measures to get their life setup outside of the group home so that they can at one point live on their own away from the group home. For example, a troubled youth that has been in recovery or has recovered from substance abuse can work on getting their GED or obtain work. A group home is not really a long-term or permanent answer, but it's a viable short-term option for those who are attempting to get their lives back together again.
