Offering gender-specific treatment services has proven worthwhile in situations where conventional treatment settings have fallen short, including coping with situations within a women's life that are unique and painful. Such troubles may pertain to sexual abuse, physical trauma, mental abuse, eating disorders, one's family and being a mother, or any other really serious issues which can be specific to women. Research shows that women can also get involved in abusing drugs more readily than men, and therefore are more predisposed to sickness as a consequence of drug abuse issues than males because of this. Due to obligations in the home, women also tend to put off looking for and undergoing treatment, a situation which can be a catalyst for disaster. With this in mind, rehab services for women are created so that a women's needs are the concentration and priority.
