Medicare is a type of health insurance developed by the federal government for senior citizens, along with those that have certain disabilities and sicknesses. If a person who has Medicare needs rehab for cases of drug or alcohol abuse, their rehab will either be covered in full by their Medicare insurance or to a significant extent. The one exception is, the person will need to obtain treatment coming from a drug rehab facility which accepts Medicare. Before the individual will be allowed to begin treatment, they will also have to see their physician who must declare that rehab services are medically necessary, and the physician will generally approve what type of rehab the individual will do. Medicare Part An and Part B cover various kinds of rehab solutions. Medicare Part A pays for an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted program if the individual needs to be hospitalized for his or her issue, and the costs that they will have to cover personally are identical to every other stay in a hospital. Part B will partly cover outpatient rehab inside a Medicare accepted facility, and the individual will need to cover whatever Part B doesn't cover with supplemental insurance coverage or they'll have to self pay.
