A group home for a person who has been involved in drug abuse is a place which provides continuous support and help for people in recovery. A group home is ordinarily for troubled adolescents, but in addition there are group homes for folks with a mental health disorder or who are experiencing behavioral trouble for example. As opposed to sending those who are struggling with drug abusedrug use or recovering from substance abuse to an orphanage, asylum and other similar place, a group home will help provide an appropriate environment to help individuals sustain stability in their lives and have counsel and support within reach around the clock. People who reside within a group home may be getting involved in treatment services while in residence, or might be taking measures to get their life setup outside the group home to enable them to at some point live independently outside the group home. For instance, a troubled youth that has been in recovery or has recovered from substance abuse can try to get their GED or acquire employment. A group home is not necessarily a long-term or permanent solution, yet it's a practical short-term option for individuals who want to get their lives back together.
