Individuals who would like to maintain some flexibility within their lives can engage in an outpatient rehab whenever they need rehab for drug or alcohol abuse. Outpatient rehab will allow for the rehabilitation client to take part in rehabilitation services without the commitment you might usually have to agree to within an inpatient or residential drug and alcohol rehab program. This doesn't often work in the rehabilitation client's favor however, particularly for those clients who need to solve significant drug abuse issues. So while an outpatient rehab might appear to be an expedient possibility, it isn't for everybody. People who do choose an outpatient rehab will typically show up at meetings and take part in therapy and rehabilitation services on a part-time basis each day or several days weekly. This is often helpful for those who have recently completed a much more comprehensive inpatient or residential program as a good aftercare or upkeep step, or for someone with only a brief history of drug use which is usually a really small percentage of clients. For an individual with more serious addiction and dependency issues, inpatient or residential drug and alcohol treatment programs which offer rehabilitation over a long-term basis will probably be the more beneficial rehabilitation choice.
