Medicare is a form of health care insurance created by the federal government for seniors, in addition to those that have specific disabilities and illnesses. If a person that has Medicare needs rehabilitation for instances of drug or alcohol abuse, their rehabilitation will be either covered entirely by their Medicare health insurance or to a significant degree. The one catch is, the person will need to receive treatment coming from a drug rehab facility which accepts Medicare. Before the individual will be permitted to begin treatment, they will also have to visit their doctor who must state that rehabilitation services are medically necessary, and the physician will typically approve what type of rehab the individual will do. Medicare Part An and Part B cover different types of treatment services. Medicare Part A pays for an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted facility in the event that the individual must be in a hospital for problem, and the costs that they will have to cover personally are the same as any other stay in a hospital. Medicare Part B will partially cover outpatient rehab in the Medicare accepted program, and the individual will have to cover whatever Medicare Part B doesn't pay for with supplemental insurance coverage or they're going to have to self pay.
