TRICARE is health care insurance which is provided to individuals in the military of the United States. Drug and alcohol use inside the military is a lot more common than one would think, and the need to provide rehabilitation to these individuals is an important priority. TRICARE covers a variety of rehab services to cope with drug and alcohol dependence including detoxification services, in addition to rehab in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient facilities. People with TRICARE will obviously have to have a prior approval before taking part in any kind of treatment service, which can be organized using their regional TRICARE liaison. If an inpatient program could be the preferred treatment choice, TRICARE will cover a three week period or one inpatient stay in that program per benefit period which is every 365 days. There are certain limits regarding how long a TRICARE member can stay in an inpatient program that accepts TRICARE, then there is typically a 30 to 45 day window that's covered. TRICARE also covers family treatment which can be very helpful, as it may help include loved ones in the healing and process of recovery.
