TRICARE is medical insurance which is provided to people in the military of the United States. Substance abuse inside the military is more common than one would imagine, and the need to offer treatment to these individuals is a vital priority. TRICARE covers a number of rehabilitation services to cope with drug and alcohol dependence such as detox services, in addition to treatment in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient facilities. People who have TRICARE will of course be asked to obtain a prior approval before taking part in any type of treatment service, that may be arranged using a regional TRICARE representative. If an inpatient center is the favored rehab choice, TRICARE covers a three week period or one inpatient stay in this particular facility per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are specific limits regarding how much time a TRICARE member can stay in an inpatient program that accepts TRICARE, and there's typically a 30 to 45 day window that is covered. TRICARE also covers family counselling which may be very helpful, as it could help include loved ones in the healing and recovery process.
