TRICARE is health insurance which is offered to members of the armed forces of the United States. Substance abuse inside the military is more common than one would imagine, and the need to offer rehabilitation to these individuals is a vital priority. TRICARE covers many different rehabilitation services to deal with drug and alcohol dependence such as detoxification services, and also rehabilitation in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient facilities. People with TRICARE will obviously need to get a prior approval before taking part in any kind of treatment service, which can be arranged with their regional TRICARE liaison. If an inpatient center could be the preferred rehab option, TRICARE will cover a 3 week period or one inpatient stay in such a facility per benefit period which is every 365 days. There are certain limits regarding how long a TRICARE member can remain in an inpatient facility that accepts TRICARE, and there is typically a 30 to 45 day window that's covered. TRICARE also covers family counselling that may be very useful, as it may help include loved ones in the healing and process of recovery. No member of the military should struggle with this battle alone, and there are professional rehabilitation counselors standing by to help you today.
