Individuals who wish to maintain a lot of flexibility in their lives can take advantage of an outpatient rehab whenever they need rehabilitation for substance abuse. Outpatient rehab will allow for the rehabilitation client to participate in rehab services with the same commitment one would usually have to agree to within an inpatient or residential alcohol and drug rehab program. This doesn't always work in the rehabilitation client's favor however, specifically those clients who need to solve significant drug abuse problems. So even though an outpatient rehab might appear to be an opportune possibility, it isn't for everybody. People that do decide on an outpatient rehab will generally attend meetings and take part in counseling and rehab services part-time every day or several days per week. This is helpful for individuals who have just completed a more thorough inpatient or residential program as an effective aftercare or upkeep step, or for someone with just a brief history of substance abuse which is usually a really small percentage of clients. For somebody with more serious addiction and dependency issues, inpatient or residential drug and alcohol treatment facilities which provide rehabilitation over a long-term basis will be the more advantageous rehab option.
