A group home for someone who has tbeen involved with drug abuse is a place which provides continuous support and assistance for individuals in recovery. A group home is usually for troubled adolescents, but there are also group homes for individuals with a mental health problem or who are experiencing behavioral difficulties for example. As an alternative to sending people who are struggling with drug abusedrug use or recovering from drug abuse to an orphanage, asylum or other similar place, a group home may help offer an appropriate environment to help individuals sustain stability within their lives and have counsel and assistance within reach 24/7. Residents within a group home could be getting involved in rehab services whilst in residence, or could be taking actions to get their life set up outside of the group home in order to at some point live independently outside of the group home. For example, a troubled youth who has been in recovery or has recovered from drug abusedrug use can try to get their GED or obtain employment. A group home is not really a long-term or permanent option, however it is a practical short-term option for individuals who making the effort to get their lives back together again.
