A group home for a person who has been involved in drug and alcohol abuse is a place which offers continual support and help for those in recovery. A group home is ordinarily for troubled youth, but there are also group homes for people with a mental health problem or who are encountering behavioral trouble for example. Instead of sending people who are experiencing drug abusedrug use or recovering from substance abuse to an orphanage, asylum or another similar place, a group home might help offer an acceptable environment to help individuals sustain stability in their lives and still have counsel and assistance within reach 24/7. People who reside within a group home could be getting involved in rehab services while in residence, or could be taking actions to get their life setup outside the group home in order to at one point live independently outside the group home. For example, a troubled youth who's been in recovery or has recovered from drug abusedrug use can work on getting their GED or acquire work. A group home is not really a long-term or permanent solution, yet it's a feasible temporary option for individuals who making the effort to get their lives back together.
