A group home for anyone who has tbeen involved with drug and alcohol abuse is a place which provides continual support and assistance for those in recovery. A group home is usually for troubled adolescents, but in addition there are group homes for those with a mental health problem or who are encountering behavioral trouble for example. Instead of sending people who are struggling with drug abusedrug use or recovering from substance abuse to an orphanage, asylum and other similar facility, a group home will help provide an acceptable environment to help individuals sustain stability within their lives and still have counsel and assistance within reach 24/7. People who reside within a group home could be getting involved in treatment services during residence, or may be taking actions to get their life setup outside the group home in order to at one point live on their own away from the group home. For example, a troubled youth who has been in recovery or has recovered from substance abuse can work on getting their GED or obtain employment.
