TRICARE is medical health insurance that is provided to people in the military of the United States. Drug and alcohol use inside the military is a lot more common than one would assume, and the need to offer rehab to these individuals is a priority. TRICARE covers many different rehab services to cope with alcohol and drug dependence including detox services, as well as rehabilitation in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient programs. Individuals with TRICARE will obviously have to get a prior approval before partaking in any sort of treatment service, which is often arranged using a regional TRICARE liaison. If an inpatient program could be the preferred rehab choice, TRICARE covers a 3 week period or one inpatient stay in this particular facility per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are certain limits about the length of time a TRICARE member can remain in the inpatient center that accepts TRICARE, and there is typically a 30-45 day window that is covered. TRICARE also covers family treatment that may be very helpful, as it may help include family members in the healing and recovery process.
