TRICARE is medical insurance which is provided to people in the armed forces of the United States. Drug and alcohol use within the military is much more common than one would assume, and the need to provide treatment to these individuals is an important priority. TRICARE covers a variety of treatment services to handle alcohol and drug dependence including detox services, along with rehabilitation in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient facilities. People with TRICARE will needless to say need to get a prior approval before partaking in any sort of treatment service, which is often arranged using a regional TRICARE representative. If an inpatient center could be the preferred treatment choice, TRICARE covers 21 days or one inpatient stay in this particular program per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are specific limits as to the length of time a TRICARE member can remain in an inpatient center that accepts TRICARE, and there is typically a 30 to 45 day window which is covered. TRICARE also covers family therapy which is often very beneficial, as it can help include loved ones in the healing and recovery process. No member of the military should struggle with this battle alone, and there are expert rehab counselors ready to help today.
