A group home for anyone who has tbeen involved with alcohol and drug abuse is a place which offers continuous support and assistance for those in recovery. A group home is typically for troubled youth, but in addition there are group homes for folks with a mental health problem or who are encountering behavioral trouble for example. As opposed to sending those who are experiencing substance abuse or recovering from drug abuse to an orphanage, asylum and other similar facility, a group home can help provide an appropriate environment to help maintain stability within their lives and have counsel and support at their fingertips around the clock. People who reside in the group home might be involved in treatment services while in residence, or could be taking actions to get their life setup outside the group home so that they can at some time live independently outside the group home. As an example, a troubled youth who's been in recovery or has recovered from substance abuse can work on getting their GED or obtain work. A group home is certainly not a long-term or permanent answer, but it is a viable temporary option for those who making the effort to get their lives back together.
