Medicaid is a type of medical insurance available for individuals who are in specific income brackets which qualifies them to acquire this government funded insurance coverage. Whether someone is qualified for Medicaid doesn't only determined by income however, and people shouldn't assume they don't qualify just because they earn a reasonable income. For example, men and women who have quite a few dependents may qualify for Medicaid regardless of whether they earn what would be described as a reasonable income. Medicaid can also cover the expenses of rehabilitation, if someone has been abusing alcohol or drugs and requires rehab. There are several drug and alcohol rehabilitation programs which accept Medicaid, but various states have distinct rules for what forms of rehabilitation are covered. Some states only include outpatient treatment services for example while other states cover far more intensive rehab such as a residential stay in long-term drug treatment center. If somebody is involved with substance abuse and wants help, they can use their Medicaid health coverage to obtain this treatment. If they do not have Medicaid and in addition don't have the money or some other form of health insurance to pay for rehab, they could find out if they are eligible for a Medicaid and then enroll in a drug rehabilitation program that's approved in their state.
