This is very helpful for many who have just completed an even more extensive inpatient or residential program as an effective aftercare or maintenance step, and someone with just a brief history of drug use which is usually a very small number of clients. For somebody with more severe drug abuse and dependency issues, inpatient or residential drug and alcohol rehab facilities which offer rehab over a long-term basis will be the more effective rehab alternative.
