Dual diagnosis rehabs are programs which provide rehabilitation to handle both mental health and addiction concerns concurrently. Dual diagnosis is a very prevalent circumstance for individuals involved with drug abuse, as individuals with mental health disorders often self medicate with alcohol and drugs to experience some form of temporary respite from their disorder. Dual diagnosis clients also benefit from behavioral treatment that helps them develop more effective coping methods so they are better able to handle life situations more effectively when they leave dual diagnosis rehab as opposed to returning to drugs and alcohol as an inferior solution.
