A group home for anyone who has tbeen involved with drug abuse is a place which provides continual support and assistance for individuals in recovery. A group home is usually for troubled youth, but there are also group homes for individuals with a mental health problem or who are encountering behavioral trouble for example. As opposed to sending people who are struggling with drug abusedrug use or recovering from substance abuse to an orphanage, asylum or other similar place, a group home may help provide an appropriate environment to help individuals sustain stability within their lives and still have counsel and support within reach around the clock. Residents in the group home could possibly be getting involved in rehabilitation services whilst in residence, or might be taking actions to get their life setup outside of the group home so that they can at some point live on their own outside of the group home. For instance, a troubled youth who's been in recovery or has recovered from substance abuse can try to get their GED or acquire employment. A group home is not necessarily a long-term or permanent option, but it's a viable short-term option for many who making the effort to get their lives back together.
