Dual diagnosis rehabs are facilities which provide treatment to address both addiction and mental health issues at the same time. Rehabilitation counselors will work to identify environmental issues in the client's life including negative people in their lives or any other things which need to be addressed in order for the person to be mentally stable and sober t after they leave dual diagnosis rehab. Dual diagnosis clients also reap the benefits of behavioral treatment which helps them develop more effective coping mechanisms so that they are able to better handle life circumstances more proficiently when they depart dual diagnosis rehab as opposed to turning to drugs and alcohol as an inferior answer.
