Medicaid is a form of medical insurance available for many people who are in certain income brackets which qualifies them to obtain this government funded insurance. Whether or not someone is qualified for Medicaid doesn't only determined by income however, and individuals shouldn't presume they don't qualify because they make a reasonable income. For example, men and women who have many dependents may be entitled to Medicaid regardless of whether they earn what might be described as a reasonable income. Medicaid can also cover the price of rehab, if someone has been abusing drugs or alcohol and needs rehabilitation. There are many drug and alcohol treatment programs which accept Medicaid, but different states have different rules for what kinds of rehabilitation are covered. Some states only include outpatient rehabilitation services for instance while other states cover far more extensive rehab say for example a residential stay in long-term alcohol and drug rehabilitation center. If somebody is involved with drug abuse and needs help, they can use their Medicaid health coverage to get this treatment. If they do not have Medicaid and in addition don't have the cash or another kind of medical health insurance to cover rehabilitation, they can determine if they qualify for Medicaid and then sign up for a drug and alcohol rehab program that is approved in their state.
