Individuals who would like to maintain a lot of flexibility within their lives can take advantage of an outpatient rehab when they need rehab for substance abuse. Outpatient rehab makes it possible for the treatment client to participate in rehab services without the commitment you might normally have to consent to in an inpatient or residential drug treatment center. This doesn't often work in the rehab client's favor however, specifically those individuals who need to solve significant drug abuse issues. So even though an outpatient rehab may seem like a convenient option, it isn't for everyone. Those that choose an outpatient rehab will ordinarily attend meetings and take part in counseling and treatment services on a part-time basis on a daily basis or a few days each week. This is helpful for individuals who have recently completed an even more comprehensive inpatient or residential program as a good aftercare or maintenance step, or for someone with just a short history of drug use which is usually a very small percentage of clients. For an individual with more severe addiction and dependency problems, inpatient or residential drug rehabilitation programs which provide treatment on a long-term basis will be the more beneficial rehab option.
