TRICARE is medical health insurance that's provided to individuals in the military of the United States. Substance abuse within the military is much more common than one would think, and the necessity to provide rehab to these individuals is an important priority. TRICARE covers many different treatment services to handle drug and alcohol dependence like detox services, along with rehab in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient settings. People who have TRICARE will of course need to have a prior authorization before partaking in any type of rehab service, which may be organized with their regional TRICARE liaison. If an inpatient facility is the preferred rehabilitation choice, TRICARE covers a three week period or one inpatient stay in that program per benefit period which is every 365 days. There are particular limits as to the length of time a TRICARE member can stay in an inpatient program that accepts TRICARE, and there's typically a 30 to 45 day window that's covered. TRICARE also covers family therapy which can be very useful, as it can help include family members in the healing and recovery process. No member of the military should struggle with this battle alone, and there are expert rehab counselors ready to help today.
