Medicare is a form of medical insurance developed by the government for senior citizens, and also individuals with certain disabilities and illnesses. If someone who has Medicare needs rehab for cases of substance abuse, their treatment will either be covered fully by their Medicare insurance or to a significant extent. The one exception is, the person will need to obtain treatment coming from an alcohol and drugs rehab facility which accepts Medicare. Before the person will be allowed to commence rehabilitation, they will also have to see their physician who must declare that treatment services are medically needed, and the physician will usually approve which kind of rehab the person will take part in. Medicare Part An and Part B cover different types of rehab services. Medicare Part A covers an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted program in the event that the individual needs to be hospitalized for his or her problem, and the costs that they will have to cover personally are identical to every other stay in a hospital. Part B will partially cover outpatient rehab inside a Medicare accepted program, and the individual will have to cover whatever Medicare Part B doesn't cover with supplemental insurance or they'll have to self pay.
