Medicare is a type of medical insurance developed by the government for seniors, as well as those that have specific disabilities and illnesses. If a person that has Medicare needs rehab for instances of substance abuse, their rehab will either be covered fully by their Medicare health insurance or to a great extent. The only real exception is, the individual will need to obtain treatment from a drug rehab facility which accepts Medicare. Before the person will be allowed to commence rehabilitation, they will also have to visit their doctor who must state that treatment services are medically essential, and the physician will usually approve what type of rehab the person will do. Medicare Part An and Part B cover various kinds of rehab services. Medicare Part A pays for an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted program when the individual must be in a hospital for their problem, along with the costs that they will have to pay for personally are the same as any other stay in a hospital. Medicare Part B will partly cover outpatient rehab in a Medicare accepted program, and the individual will need to cover whatever Medicare Part B doesn't cover with supplement insurance coverage or they'll have to self pay.
