TRICARE is medical insurance that is offered to people in the armed forces of the United States. Drug abuse inside the military is much more common than one would imagine, and the necessity to provide rehabilitation to these individuals is a crucial priority. TRICARE covers numerous rehabilitation services to handle drug and alcohol dependence including detoxification services, along with treatment in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient programs. People with TRICARE will of course have to have a prior approval before partaking in any type of rehabilitation service, which may be arranged with their regional TRICARE representative. If an inpatient facility could be the preferred treatment choice, TRICARE will cover a three week period or one inpatient stay in such a center per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are certain limits as to just how long a TRICARE member can stay in an inpatient program that accepts TRICARE, and there's typically a 30-45 day window that is covered. TRICARE also covers family therapy that may be very useful, as it may help include loved ones in the healing and process of recovery. No member of the military should struggle with this battle alone, and there are professional rehabilitation counselors standing by to help today.
