Dual diagnosis rehabs are programs which provide rehab to deal with both mental health and addiction issues at the same time. Rehab counselors will work to recognize environmental factors in the client's life including negative relationships or any other things that should be addressed in order for the individual to stay mentally healthy and abstinen t once they depart dual diagnosis rehab. Dual diagnosis clients also benefit from behavioral rehabilitation which helps them develop far better coping methods so they are better able to deal with life situations better once they leave dual diagnosis rehab rather than returning to drugs and alcohol as an inferior option.
