Outpatient rehab enables the rehabilitation client to participate in rehab services without the commitment you might ordinarily have to agree to within an inpatient or residential drug and alcohol rehab center. This doesn't always work in the rehabilitation client's favor however, specifically those clients who need to resolve significant drug abuse issues. So while an outpatient rehab might appear to be an expedient possibility, it isn't for everybody. Those that decide on an outpatient rehab will generally attend meetings and be a part of therapy and rehabilitation services part-time daily or several days weekly. This is helpful for those who have recently completed a more thorough inpatient or residential program as a good aftercare or maintenance step, or someone with just a brief history of drug use which is really a really small amount of clients. For someone with more significant drug abuse and dependency issues, inpatient or residential alcohol and drug rehabilitation programs that provide rehabilitation over a long-term basis will probably be the more effective treatment option.
