Self pay is sometimes the only option for individuals who need treatment in the drug and alcohol treatment center for drug abuse but don't have any health care insurance. It isn't uncommon for somebody addicted to alcohol or drugs not to have private health insurance, as it can be difficult to maintain a drug or alcohol habit going while also sustaining work. Individuals might not have private medical insurance to start with, but may make too much money to qualify for Medicaid which may cover certain types of rehabilitation. If an individual has to self pay for treatment and doesn't have private health insurance, it is in their best interests to look into Medicaid to determine if they meet the requirements, when they haven't already done so. Whether they have no other choice but to self pay, individuals along with their loved ones can typically produce the resources to pay for treatment some way. Thankfully, many drug and alcohol rehab centers will work with folks whose only option is to self pay to make it more achievable to participate in a good drug treatment facility. There are payment assistance options available at many alcohol and drug treatment programs that qualified clients can benefit from.
