Medicaid is a form of medical health insurance available for individuals who are in specific income brackets which qualifies them to receive this government funded insurance. Whether an individual is qualified for Medicaid doesn't only depend on income however, and individuals shouldn't assume they don't qualify simply because they earn a good income. As an example, men and women who have a lot of dependents may be eligible for Medicaid even when they earn what can be considered a reasonable income. Medicaid may also cover the costs of treatment, if a person has been abusing drugs or alcohol and requires rehabilitation. There are numerous drug and alcohol rehabilitation programs which accept Medicaid, but various states have different rules for what types of treatment are covered. Certain states only cover outpatient rehab services for instance while other states cover far more extensive rehabilitation say for example a residential stay in long-term drug rehabilitation facility. If a person is involved in drug use and desires help, they could use their Medicaid health coverage to obtain this treatment. If they don't have Medicaid and also don't have the money or some other form of medical insurance to pay for treatment, they can determine if they qualify for Medicaid and then sign up for an alcohol and drug rehabilitation facility that's approved in their state.
