Medicaid is a form of medical insurance available for individuals who are in certain income brackets which qualifies them to obtain this government funded insurance. Whether someone is qualified for Medicaid doesn't only depend upon income however, and people shouldn't presume they don't qualify simply because they make a fair income. For example, people who have many dependents may be entitled to Medicaid even when they make an amount be considered a fair income. Medicaid also can cover the expense of rehabilitation, if a person has been abusing drugs or alcohol and needs rehab. There are numerous alcohol and drug treatment centers which accept Medicaid, but various states have different rules for what sorts of rehab are covered. Certain states only include outpatient rehab services for example while other states cover far more intensive rehab such as a residential stay in long-term alcohol and drug rehab center. If somebody is involved in substance abuse and needs help, they are able to use their Medicaid insurance coverage to obtain this help. If they don't have Medicaid and in addition don't have the money or any other type of health insurance to cover treatment, they could see if they qualify for Medicaid and then sign up for a drug rehab program which is approved within their state.
