Outpatient rehab enables the treatment client to take part in rehab services without the commitment one would usually have to consent to in an inpatient or residential drug and alcohol rehab program. This doesn't often work in the rehabilitation client's favor however, specifically those individuals who need to address substantial substance abuse issues. So while an outpatient rehab may seem like an opportune option, it isn't for everyone. People that do choose an outpatient rehab will typically attend meetings and take part in counseling and treatment services part-time on a daily basis or a few days weekly. This can be very helpful for those who have just completed a far more complete inpatient or residential program as an effective aftercare or upkeep step, and for someone with only a brief history of drug use which is really a very small amount of clients. For someone with more significant addiction and dependency issues, inpatient or residential drug rehab facilities that provide treatment over a long-term basis will be the more beneficial treatment alternative.
