TRICARE is medical health insurance which is provided to folks in the military of the United States. Substance abuse within the military is a lot more common than one would imagine, and the need to provide rehab to these individuals is an important priority. TRICARE covers a number of rehab services to handle drug and alcohol dependence including detox services, as well as treatment in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient settings. Those that have TRICARE will obviously be required to have a prior authorization before partaking in any sort of treatment service, which is often arranged using a regional TRICARE liaison. If an inpatient center will be the preferred rehabilitation choice, TRICARE covers twenty-one days or one inpatient stay in that center per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are specific limits as to how much time a TRICARE member can stay in the inpatient facility that accepts TRICARE, and there is typically a 30 to 45 day window that is covered. TRICARE also covers family therapy which is often very useful, as it can certainly help include family members in the healing and recovery process. No member of the military should struggle with this battle alone, and there are professional rehabilitation counselors waiting to help today.
