Individuals who would like to maintain a certain amount of flexibility in their lives can take advantage of an outpatient rehab when they need treatment for substance abuse. Outpatient rehab will allow for the rehabilitation client to take part in rehabilitation services with the same commitment you might normally have to consent to within an inpatient or residential drug rehab program. This doesn't often work in the treatment client's favor however, specifically those clients who need to resolve substantial substance abuse problems. So while an outpatient rehab might appear to be an expedient possibility, it isn't for everyone. People that do choose an outpatient rehab will ordinarily attend meetings and be a part of counseling and rehabilitation services part-time on a daily basis or several days weekly. This is helpful for those who have recently completed a far more extensive inpatient or residential program as an effective aftercare or upkeep step, or for someone with just a short history of drug use which is usually a very small amount of clients. For an individual with more severe drug abuse and dependency issues, inpatient or residential alcohol and drug rehabilitation centers that provide treatment on a long-term basis will be the more effective rehab choice.
