TRICARE is medical insurance that's provided to individuals in the military of the United States. Drug and alcohol use within the military is much more common than one would imagine, and the necessity to offer treatment to these individuals is an important priority. TRICARE covers a number of rehab services to handle alcohol and drug dependence including detoxification services, in addition to rehabilitation in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient facilities. Individuals with TRICARE will needless to say be required to get a prior approval before partaking in any sort of rehabilitation service, that may be arranged using their regional TRICARE liaison. If an inpatient program could be the preferred treatment option, TRICARE will cover a 3 week period or one inpatient stay in such a facility per benefit period which is every 365 days.
